Team Values
As a collaborative unit, we desire to propose a design that can shine light on Wadjemup's Indigenous and non-Indigenous heritage that seems to be overlooked by the Island's recent success as a holiday destination. We aim to attract a wider demographic, reaching out to more international tourists as well as convincing visitors to stay overnight on the Island so they can fully experience and appreciate Wadjemup day and night. We seek to create a community - offering a sense of place and identity - to ensure that visitors are aware of the deeper meaning and context behind the stunning coastlines and dynamic hillscapes that captivates Wadjemup as a treasured island
Our Vision
Hybrid Space aims to create a community that successfully captures Wadjemup's true identity. We will be focusing our designs on the 4 factors below.

Indigenous Heritage
Wadjemup's past operation as an Indigenous prison, now understandably a sensitive topic for the Indigenous community. Is however considered to be a potential site for the reconciliation between the Indigenous and non-Indigenous people.

Non-Indigenous Heritage
Island rich with European heritage and architecture, from initial establishments to military preparations. Preservation of heritage structures would be vital to conserve the Island's identity.

Environment & Sustainability
Hopes of moving towards a sustainable future through the integration of renewable energy and self-sufficient structures & communities to ensure the preservation of Wadjemup's natural systems.

Biodiversity
Wadjemup's unique flora & fauna, exclusive to the Island is recognised as a driving factor for the Island's tourist and economy.
